According to reports, the theme of the conference is "service trade innovation and digital future", focusing on the innovation and development of digital trade and service trade, aiming to build an international exchange and cooperation platform for service trade, create a digital trade ecosystem, enhance the development momentum of service trade, and enhance the international influence and brand competitiveness of Nanjing service trade. During the conference, a series of special activities were held, such as the Digital Service Innovation and Development Forum, the International Education Service Trade Cooperation Forum, the Digital Trade International Cooperation Docking Symposium, and the Nanjing Service Trade Achievements Exhibition.
Guo Tingting, Vice Minister of Commerce, said in a video speech that at present, the digitization process of service trade is accelerating, and new technologies such as big data, cloud computing and Internet of things provide advanced technical support for the globalization of service industry and the development of service trade. At the same time, there is an obvious trend of integrated development of service trade with modern service industry, manufacturing industry and agriculture, which provides a huge space for the development of service trade.
Guo Tingting said that in recent years, China has continued to promote the comprehensive pilot demonstration of expanding the opening up of the service industry and the pilot project of innovative development of service trade, and positive policies in the field of service trade have been released, and the recovery of service trade has been good. As a pilot area for the country to comprehensively deepen the innovative development of service trade and a demonstration city for service outsourcing, Nanjing has witnessed steady growth in the scale of service trade and service outsourcing, continuous improvement in the quality structure, and achieved a number of original and high-quality achievements in the development of service trade.
It is reported that in recent years, Nanjing has given full play to its advantages in software and information services, modern finance, commerce and trade, cultural tourism and other fields, and focused on promoting the national pilot for innovative development of service trade and the comprehensive pilot for expanding the opening up of the service industry. Last year, the import and export of service trade reached 14.26 billion US dollars, an increase of 11.4% year-on-year.
At the opening ceremony, Yu Rong, deputy Party secretary of the Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation of the Ministry of Commerce, released the "Global Trade in Services Development Index Report 2023". The "report" introduced the global and our country the overall trend of trade in services and the latest developments, pointed out that Jiangsu for 6 consecutive years ranked first echelon, the status index rose from the sixth in the previous year to the fourth, in the national development pattern of trade in services in an increasingly prominent position.
The report shows that in recent years, Nanjing has achieved good results in deepening the innovation and development of service trade. In the fields of finance, transportation, intellectual property, education, biomedical and legal services, new measures have been introduced to facilitate the flow of talent, technology, capital and customs clearance.
The conference also set up a "Nanjing Service Trade Achievements Exhibition Zone", focusing on the achievements of Nanjing's service trade and digital trade in recent years. The contents of the exhibition systematically introduce the overall scale of Nanjing's service trade, 5 national characteristic service export bases and 5 best practice cases promoted to the whole country.
